• 250 grams plain sweet biscuits
  • 395 grams sweetened condensed milk
  • 85 grams desiccated coconut
  • 25 grams cocoa powder
  • 130 grams desiccated coconut (extra)


  1. Crush the biscuits by hand using a rolling pin, or in a food processor, until they resemble fine crumbs.
  2. Add the sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder and desiccated coconut.
  3. Stir the mixture until it’s completely combined and the sweetened condensed milk has coated the dry ingredients.
  4. Using your hands, roll the mixture into heaped teaspoon-sized balls and then toss through a bowl of coconut until well coated.
  5. Store rum balls in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
  6. Alternatively, freeze them in an airtight container for up to 2 months and allow to come to room temperature before eating.
