This simple Easter Chocolate Cake is a delicious way to bring everyone to the table. Made with Sunshine Low GI Sugar, it delivers the same sweet taste with a sustained release of all natural energy, while creating a soft, rich chocolate cake that’s perfect for decorating.
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- ½ cup boiling water
- 1 cup Sunshine Low GI sugar
- 1½ cups self-raising flour
- ¾ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 125g melted butter
- Icing (whichever colour you’d like- we chose pink!)
- Sprinkles
Method
- Preheat the oven to 160–180°C and grease and line a round cake tin.
- Place all ingredients in a bowl and beat together until well combined (do not overmix).
- Pour the mixture into the prepared tin.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until cooked through.
- Allow to cool before decorating.
- Decorate with pink icing, sprinkles and your favourite Easter treats.
