Sunshine Sugar continually
strives for quality excellence. Equally as important is the long-term
viability of our industry and the positive contribution we can make
to our community.
For
many years we have been working towards initiatives such as soil
and water conservation, renewable energy via co-generation and waste
management through re-use of by products from the milling process.
Many of our efforts have been recognised in Australia and abroad
for their innovation and their positive contribution to the local
and wider communities.
As part of our commitment, we have been proud to work collaboratively
with the Australian Federal Government (DAFF) towards sustainable
farming practices for our future. This has resulted in the launch
of the Sugar Link report,
which was driven by a shared vision to ensure our operations comprise
of practices that are socially, economically and environmentally
sustainable.

Our electricity is derived
from the sun for our milling process. Any excess energy generated
is re-directed back to the electricity supply grid. Click here

99% of our sugar crop
is rain fed which conserves our precious water commodity. Click

A Sugarcane
Farmer's Story
My family has been growing
sugarcane on the Tweed for over 80 years. From humble beginnings
with just a few hectares on the river level, to the whole property
being under sustainable sugar production.
I have always been proud to be a part of the NSW Sugarcane industry
whose long term aim is to be both environmental and financially
sustainable.
